entry 2

Characters:

Georgia: Georgia is a very complex character in this book. Being the main character she is a ton going on. She is complex to not only figure out her emotions but also her actions. For example they met this boy named Robby and it is very hard to figure out what she is feeling and how she feels about him. The little things that add up to make her a very complex character. Georgia wants to fit in and have a boyfriend just the general things that every 14-year-old girl would want.

Georgia’s Parents: Georgia’s parents are not very complex at all because they say what they’re thinking they are very straight forward and easy to understand what they are thinking inside. This makes the relationship between Georgia and her parents very interesting because they are opposite with how complex they are and easy to understand with emotions and things like that. Georgia’s parents want their daughter to be happy and hopes she gets everything that she wants.

Jas: Jas is sort of like Georgia with her feelings and emotions making them a little hard to understand. She isn’t as complex as Georgia because we don’t see everything that she is doing and how she handles things. Jas’s wants are the same as Georgia because they are best friends, the same age, sharing the same wants.

The characters are all very unique with how they handle things and how open they are and things like that.

Some themes that are beginning to show up in this book are things that have to do with be yourself and things like that. These are showing up with how she acts in school or things she does to make herself something that she isn’t.

The structure for my book is very interesting because it isn’t written in the normal way. My book is written in a diary form. This way we get how Georgia feels about everything and it really focuses into her life. I really like being written in this way because I have never read something like that before. You also get to really fully understand and relate to Georgia and it makes the book a lot more interesting when you can relate to her.

entry 1

The book that I am reading is Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging. This book is about a girl named Georiga who writes her life in a diary and then you find out everything about her and what her life is like through her diary. The main characters that we have meet so far are Georgia, Georiga’s parents, and her friend Jas. Georgia is a 14-year-old girl in high school who writes everything that goes on in her life in her diary. They are the usual problems for a girl this age. She is a little insecure, but has an outgoing personality. Her parents show up a lot in the book for stories, things that happened between them, or advice and stuff like that. Jas, is her best find they do everything together. The setting for the book is in Britain. They go to school there, which is where a lot of the book takes place and her house. Just around town where they would hang out. The conflicts that occur in the book are both within Georgia herself, but also with other people she’s around. Some of the conflicts she has in the book is fitting in, problems with her friends, boy troubles, problems with her body. The conflicts she has in the book are mostly what any girl that age would have. I predict that since there has just been a bunch of little conflicts and problems a big problem will come up like with a boy or something like that. A movie that this book kind of reminds me of is, Mean Girls, because they are in high school facing a lot of issues with friends, boys, and fitting in. The author uses a lot of writing craft when writing because the whole book is written in diary form with the date and everything. She uses a lot if things like bullet points or numbering when writing and it really adds to the whole concept. I really enjoy this book so far and I hope it keeps moving in the same direction. This is a link that shows a trailer of the movie. I hope it is like the movie because it looks like something I would go see!!
