Clarisse was new to the neighborhood. One night when Montag was walking home late at night Clarisse was "waiting" for him and asked if he would take a walk with her around the neighborhood. In my opinion it was strange that she was out that late and also why would she ask someone she doesn't even know if they would take a walk with her? Montag did agree to take a walk with her. She was very abrupt with some of the things she said such as her introduction, "'Do you mind if I walk back with you? I'm Clarisse McClellan.'" Another things he says in the very beginning is "'I'm seventeen and I'm crazy.'" These are both very interesting quotes because she doesn't even know him and asked to walk with him and out of all the things she could say about herself she says that. Another thing that stood out to me is when she asked him, "'Are you happy?'" This stood out to me because she just met the guy and instead of saying something along the lines of so nice to meet you we should do this again she asked him if he was happy. If someone said that to me especially after just meeting I would think of them as a very strange person and I probably wouldn't associate myself with someone like that every again. One quote said about her that stood out to me was when Montag said, "'You are an odd one.'" This stood out to me because you normally wouldn't say that to someone unless they really were off their rocker so for him to say that means she really is a little crazy and not the average girl. All of these things made my conclusion of Clarisse to be that she is very strange and abrupt and not someone I would associate myself with. This is a picture of the woman who plays Clarisse.
