Final Blog Reflection

The post I decided to use as my best blog post was my theme and summary post on Anna and the French Kiss. I chose this post because first I received full credit and was the featured blogger Friday with it. In the rubric it said to first make a thematic statement about my book. So when making this post the first thing I did was wrote a thematic statement stating, "Sometimes something that is hard in the beginning can pay off in the end." This was a good thematic statement because it was a lesson or a message that fit very well to this book and it wasn't telling the reader to do something, it wasn't being bossy. The second thing the rubric told us to do was find quotes to support my theme and then support it with evidence. So in my post I would provide a quote and then back it up with evidence that would support the quote. One example is when I used this quote, "“French name, English accent, American school. Anna confused.” With this support, "This quote represents my theme because it shows that in the beginning she was really confused when she got to France. She thought that it was going to be a bad experience because she was confused in the beginning so how could it get any better." This was a good example of using a quote and support because this shows us exactly why the theme was perfect for this book. I did this three times for extra support. Lastly the rubric told us to write a summary for our book. I wrote a very good summary that explained what has happen, who the important characters were, and all the important details. This is why I chos4e this blog post for my best post.

One thing I struggled with when doing the blog was hitting all the requirements when doing the post. A way that I learned how to overcome this was by numbering. First I would get on edline and look at Mrs. Cohen's learning to understand the blogger rubric. Next I would read each one. After that I would go through one by one and compare with rubric so that I made sure I had all the sections. I would number along the way so that I could miss anything. One strength I had while doing was blogger was providing good amounts of evidence. This was a strength of mine because I would know the perfect amount of quotes and how long they should be to prove the point, but not go over kill. As shown in the quote and explanation in the paragraph above.
